Clinton Association for Gifted Children
The Clinton Association for Gifted Children (CAGC) is a booster club for parents of children who are in the ACCENT program. The Clinton association is affiliated with the Mississippi Association for Gifted Children (MAGC).
There are several goals for this parent group, including:
• Providing funds for class projects and supplies
• Writing letters and making phone calls to legislators urging them to keep the gifted program in the schools
• Seeking ways to inform parents about the activities designed for the children in the gifted program

Pancake Breakfast
The pancake breakfast was a huge success!! Thanks to everyone who helped serve, and to everyone who donated milk or juice. Vicki did an awesome job pulling this together!
Pancake Breakfast
Don't forget ... the Applebee's pancake breakfast will be held from 6:30 - 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24. Your child brought home a yellow form with information about this fundraiser along with a ticket order form and other sign-up information. Please fill out this sheet and return it to school no later than Friday, Sept. 16.
Membership

Dues are $15/family.

Revised CAGC membership forms to be distributed to each Accent teacher (electronically and hard copy). Accent teachers will be asked to make copies and distribute to students as soon as possible. CAGC will reward classes that have 100% participation by specific date with a “party”. We will need to find parent volunteers to serve kids at the parties.

CAGC membership dues and fundraiser proceeds are used to pay for Accent class room materials/supplies and for the accent teachers to attend annual conference.

As new children are ruled eligible for program, we need to be sure they are given a CAGC registration form.

Picking up CAGC forms/dues:

Northside - Elizabeth and/or Kelli

Eastside - Vicki and/or Kelli

Lovett - Vicki

Assigned board members should separate the dues from the registration forms. Within a reasonable amount of time, all dues collected should be turned over to Kerri and registration forms sent to Elizabeth. We may want to consider allowing those picking up forms to make the deposits.

Parent Meetings

November Parent Meeting to be held at Northside to discuss general information about Accent classes and what to expect during the school year.  Meeting presented by Accent teachers. CAGC will sell memberships at this meeting (maybe t-shirts).

February Parent/Kid Meeting. Tracy will contact speaker  (possibly Melissa Grantham) for parent meeting and Mrs Dowd will contact someone At CHS to see about getting former accent students to speak to kids. (Parent meeting in cafeteria and kid meeting in library will be held concurrently).
